22 Oct AntiKote Plus Goes Antiviral
A heart felt, long awaited hello and shout out to all our friends!! We truly hope that you are starting to feel a sense of relief as we start to roll out of lockdowns, restrictions, border closures and the long-awaited anticipation of domestic and international travel. It’s with this new sense of relief that we can get on with our lives, visit loved ones and plan those festive family and friend’s gatherings. Well, let’s hope that’s the case.
Back in 2016, Allkotes introduced to the market a new antibacterial film called AntiKote Gloss & Matte Film. Then in 2020 an improved version AntiKote Plus was released. Just to refresh your memory, AntiKote Plus contained antibacterial properties which made it 99% effective against known bacteria like Staphylococcus & E-Coli, for example. It also carried positive results against antifungal and anti mould properties, suggesting further testing required to gauge the degree of effectiveness.
Twelve months on we have received news regarding Antiviral properties carried out on AntiKote Plus. The trial carried out by an independent laboratory, according to ISO 21702 showed a reduction in the viral load of SARS CoV-2 (Corona Virus) of 84.15% when compared to a regular film. So basically, when the Coronavirus SARS CoV-2 was introduced to the surface of AntiKote Plus it was 84.15% effective in the reduction of the viral particles.
The results in our eyes based on the current climate acts as boost to the efforts we are all making in reducing the effects of this virus in and around our communities. Being no different in appearance to PlastaKote and MatteKote but having the benefits of being effective against Antibacterial and Antiviral properties can only be a positive step.
