General Information

Always speak to our Allkotes Team if you

have queries relating to General Information or Do’s & Don’ts.

  • Always speak to your board and ink suppliers if your job is to be post processed as in coating and laminating.
  • Always use paper and inks that are compatible with coatings and laminations. Speak to your supplier before you print. It can save a lot of time and heartache.
  • Always use inks, primers and varnishes that are resistant to coatings and lamination adhesives.
  • To maintain colour stability please avoid alkali sensitive pigments such as reflex blue, rhodamine red and others, particularly when used in tints or mixes.
  • Ensure inks are dry before we coat and laminate.
  • Keep spray powder to a minimum.
  • We do not proceed with the job until an official order is received.
  • For laminations please send a marked up sheet with your job/order, showing grip and lay. Minimum grip 10mm, 5mm on the back edge & 7mm on lay side/s required.
  • Its also very important to allow your sheet time for the lamination to bond with your printed surface. Cutting, folding, scoring should be checked for signs of any lifting before processing.
  • For all screen based work a 20mm grip is required. Click here for the Film Spec Sheet.
  • On delivery of your completed work to your premises, you must cut all strapping and remove any shrink wrap. It is the printers/customers responsibility to ensure that the removal of strapping and shrink wrap is advised when sent for any further post processing by other suppliers.
  • Keep GlitterKote, UltraKote, BubbleKote and SpotKote coatings away from any areas to be scored, folded or trimmed as cracking can and will occur.
  • If food contact is required this must be specified on the order, and coated trial sheets need to be supplied to the end customer for testing and approval. Click here for more information.
  • Our company cannot be responsible for the substrate when the make-up formula of the packed product is unknown.
  • Coatings with compliance to U.S FDA regulations can be used, but we stress that the coatings are not applied under food grade conditions.
