Meet The Staff
Allkotes Business Development Manager, Darren Delaney says the company's exciting new product, Allkotes 3D takes the printed point of sale card or poster into a whole new world.
It really is a sensational development in that it offers a competitive alternative to lenticular as well as opening a new market for the promoting of all consumer products in everything from soft drinks to electronics, says Delaney.
Allkotes has added a deluge of new products over the past 12 months including the highly sophisticated Touch Matt plus Tough Matt, Clear Rainbow, Chalk Kote and many more and there is more to come.
Delaney believes it is now time for the printing industry to decide if they want independent Print Finishers to survive or go by the wayside.
He says "this is an issue all over the world as the print finishers struggle to achieve economies of scale and adequate margins to continue the fight while the industry continues to go through this latest round of rationalisation"
We understand the trend towards in house installations as there are factors of convenience but no-one will ever be able to do it all.
Printers need to make their product more attractive to withstand the onslaught of alternatives and the main providers of these special effects are the Print Finishers like Allkotes that innovate and specialize in the areas of value added print products.
Allkotes 3D would not exist or even appear if it wasn't for the ongoing search for new and exciting special effects for print and that task totally falls at the feet of the innovative print finishing companies such as Allkotes, says Delaney.
We are always looking for something new to offer.
All we ask is for the support of the printers in recognising that all industry participants have a part to play in getting the industry in the right shape to take on the difficult challenges of the future
But as Delaney says Allkotes is not standing still.
On the horizon is the introduction of an economically friendly lamination Eco Kote which is an oxo biodegradable film lamination which will degrade over time in much the same way as degradable shopping bags.
This film might not be totally compostable but it is an advance in degradability on normal lamination and it comes at a more affordable price to the more conventional compostable films like Acetate which is derived from a sustainable wood source and is also on offer as Bio Kote.
Whatever the stakes Allkotes remains confident and is moving forward with the substantial upgrade of the company's main Sydney plant in Silverwater and the installation of a new large format Foil Stamping machine at the Melbourne factory in Ringwood, says Delaney.

Micromotion, better known as MicroKote in Allkotes terms, is just about the best thing to happen in coating and laminating in years.
It is just a sensational finish which breaks new bounds by taking the print graphic into a 3rd dimension with outstanding effects.
Allkotes is proud to be licensed by Serigraph in the U.S for the adaptation of Micromotion for the Australian and New Zealand print market.
It is particularly relevant to Point of Sale as it turns any poster, stand ups, counter cards, light box graphics into something special with a swirl and burst of colour and visual effect for the best in eye catching appeal.
