Since inception Allkotes has always maintained a positive and proactive stance on the Environment and the Health & Safety of our staff.

We pride ourselves on our push over the last 20 years to be environmentally responsible as evidenced by our long-standing Mission Statement which states:

Allkotes was instrumental in the early 1990’s in the introduction of water-based adhesives and coatings into the Print Finishing Industry and the company has always been proactive in the cause for the recycling of film laminated and coated boards through the filtration/skimming method as used by Australian recyclers.

We are under the firm belief that this method of recycling enhances the de-inking process making for a better, cleaner recycled paper/board.

Allkotes is at the forefront in the introduction of Bio-degradable, Compostable, Sustainable laminating films of the wood pulp variety and is well equipped to work the introduction of other environmentally friendly films from ethanol sources such as corn, sugar etc which are starting to come on stream.

The company is also acutely aware of the need for advanced waste management and endeavors at all times to make sure this is achieved under the correct licences and certifications of the relevant authorities.

Allkotes is already certified ISO 9001:2000 with Lloyds Register in terms of Quality Assurance and is moving toward certification under ISO 14001:2004 which relates to Environmental Management Practices.

Under the conditions of ISO 9001:2000 and the requirements of some of our major customers who run strict Environmental Guidelines we are required at all times to monitor and control our input of materials and this is being met on a constant basis.

Environmental objectives including the efficient use of materials are monitored and reviewed to ensure continuous ongoing improvement.

Do’s & Don’ts

• Do print with inks formulated for coating or film laminating.
• Do print with inks that are low in oxidation by-products and are wax free.
• Do print with strong pigmented inks.
• Do send a marked-up sheet with your order.
• Do send final film planned to fit your printed sheet for any pattern process.
• Do book in your job in advance, it helps to plan production.
• Do refer to the specific product data sheets for the coating or film lamination you require.

• Don’t use silicone coated spray powder.
• Don’t use alkali sensitive pigmented inks.
• Don’t assume that we will understand every aspect of your job without discussion.
• Don’t assume that all finishes are suitable for “indirect food contact”.
• Don’t use any finish for “direct food contact” without specific discussion regarding the type of food to be placed in contact with the finish concerned.
